People are at the heart of the Lancashire 2025 City of Culture bid, reflecting the wonderful diversity of the county. The Citizens’ Advisory Panel is a flexible group of 100 people to help the decision making and operation of Lancashire 2025. It’s about getting input to the bid process from different points of view.

We are looking for people who are:

  • Passionate about the role culture in all its forms can play in enriching people’s lives
  • Committed to a positive future for Lancashire
  • Have strong ties to your community / place where you live / business in your area

The Citizens’ Advisory Panel members are a pool who can be drawn on in different ways to give both internal and external support for Lancashire 2025. As the group is a flexible pool it allows input from people who may not have the ability to commit to regular meetings or being on a board, but whose expertise and experience would be valuable.

Key tasks for the Citizens’ Advisory Panel are -

  • Feedback on the Bid Programme Call submissions
  • Testing of Lancashire 2025 bid technology / processes
  • Feedback on communication
  • Being external faces of the bid
  • Representing bid to specific groups across the county


Who

People who live and work in Lancashire with experience relevant to the bid representing

  • All of Lancashire’s districts
  • Lancashire geography – Coastal, rural, town, urban
  • The county’s diversity
  • Cultural, business, technology, education, skills, rural groups
  • Grassroots, volunteer coordination, charity groups
  • Groups with interests in bid topic areas
  • Groups focusing on inclusion and representation


Minimum commitment -

  • 1 workshop on roles and responsibilities
  • Assessing the long list for Lancashire 2025 bid programme call
  • 1 meeting to assess open call submissions
  • At least 2 external networking events to promote Lancashire 2025 to communities in Lancashire
  • Celebration wrap up event
